How David Gerard comes up with these superb albums amazes me and Moog Opus no. 1 is a superb album!

Prescience opens everything up ever so subtely and pulls you through the eye of the needle that stands between you and the speakers on a bad day and the crest of a mountain when you're feeling good about things! My favourite tracks that I know have been crafted with care and commitment are Olympiad: Main Titles with it's T Dream-ness and Harpsichord Motion with it's reminiscences of those cool 80s to 90s live electronica events where huge banks of sequencers and spellbound audiences were simply melded into one. Moog Opus 1 and Incandescent Oscillator are plainly and simply true works of art that were destined to be played just as the sun comes up to give life to an autumn/fall dawn.

To say that David Gerard has moved forward with his explorations in soundscaping would be a heavy understatement. This composer's horizons seem subtely sharper for this project but his passion for great electronica is just as robust and dynamic as ever!
